Thoughts of the World (Part I):
A lady is sitting outside McDonald’s,
Flicking her self-cut bangs repeatedly,
Random movements of unpredictability,
Screaming at ghosts of people who don’t exist.
Thoughts of the world are full of this.
Thoughts of the World (Part II):
The lady from McDonald’s is now sitting at a bus stop with her
arms crossed, tapping her feet violently and moving her head
side to side unapprovingly, going on unnoticeably. Her
expression is blank, eyes seemingly empty. She’s seen here no
longer screaming at ghosts of people who don’t exist. Thoughts
of the world are full of this.
Thoughts of the World (Part III):
There’s a man outside of Walmart eating stuff he’s found on the
ground with a big orange and white bag slung over his shoulder,
going through trash cans for leftover food and drinks, pouring a
little bit of something from a bottle into his cup and dancing
while he takes a sip. One hand in the air while he twists.
Thoughts of the world are full of this.
Thoughts of the World (Part IV):
Chest out, stomach further out, arms back and out like the wings
of a flightless bird. Penguin. The expression and gait of a
drunk walking into oncoming traffic with the confidence of
someone who no longer cares about anything. Wiping his nose with
the back of his hand, he sidesteps and shuffles through traffic,
somehow missed. Thoughts of the world are full of this.
Thoughts of the World (Part V):
They are sitting at the bus stop. It’s the place to commune.
Here, the homeless sit, rest, and connect. She’s sitting on the
sidewalk in a flower-print dress, hair in a bun, bag on the
ground. Standing out from the crowd, she smiles, talks, and
laughs with the rest. What journey has brought her to this? What
feels like failure looks like happiness. Thoughts of the world
are full of this.
